WORKPLACE INJURIES

Thousands of employees suffer from work-related injuries in Ontario annually. Workers’ compensation laws in Ontario are incredibly complex and there are timelines that injured employees must abide by in order to obtain fair compensation. If you are involved in a work-related injury, you should take the following steps:

  • Report the injury to your employer.
  • Get medical treatment immediately.
  • Obtain the names, addresses and phone numbers of any witnesses.
  • Complete Form 6.
  • Retain a lawyer.
  • Document your injuries, medical appointments, medications, etc.
  • Ask your employer about modified duties. If your employer does not have modified duties, look for work and document your efforts.
